about
Baytree Balconies ... brings landscaping to your balcony.
Baytree Balconies provides attractive and sustainable garden design, tailor-made for balcony spaces where factors such as watering and light restrictions must be addressed to keep the garden flourishing. The well-designed balcony, often a neglected after-thought, can become the home's valuable 'other room', increasing the living space of the apartment, especially in Queensland where the conditions for outdoor living are ideal.
While more and more people living in the city are dwelling in high-rise apartments, the need to connect with nature - to be able to touch it and feel it - is essential to individual well-being. After travelling around the world and visiting the Amazon Rainforest, Andew Moir, founder of Baytree Balconies, realised the importance of preserving a 'green' home environment and decided to do his bit to keep nature alive for future generations to enjoy, within the context of our everyday living spaces.
When selecting plants, Baytree Balconies considers the prevailing conditions of the site to ensure the best selection for your garden. The plants, outdoor furniture, artworks and water features are chosen to complement the interior colour scheme and style of your apartment, creating a harmonious living space.
Baytree Balconies also offers simple watering and fertilizing maintenance plans, taking the mystery out of gardening and helping you to discover your 'green thumb'! The balcony garden, with an easy and simple care plan, stays alive and looks great.
Gardens can be themed to suit your tastes and needs. Edible gardens - vegetables, herbs and even fruit trees - are popular. Tuscan gardens, Greek gardens, Roman gardens and Australian native gardens are some of the many themes available. Statues, sculptures and even rainwater tanks can be installed on some balconies; the rainwater is perfect for keeping plants in top condition. Water fountains add interest and grace the space with the serene sound of flowing water.
Andrew Moir holds a degree in Visual Art; designed and manufactured an interior home furnishing business to retail outlets and galleries throughout Australia; and worked with a nursery and landscaping business for eight years prior to establishing Baytree Balconies. His creativity is fuelled by a 'blank canvas' and he is inspired by the unique challenges of each balcony space. He is passionate about making each balcony garden special, about creating a sanctuary, and about designing a space that you will love!
